Frieze is similar to the shag of the 70's except it is much shorter now. It is most commonly found made of nylon and polyester. Stay away from the polyester as it mats down in the traffic areas very quickly. One thing I see a lot is white based friezes, usually with dark specs. It is better to pick a little darker base as the white shows any imperfection. Another thing to watch out for is not getting a very dense fiber count. the thicker the better as it will last much longer but come at a cost.
